  • GUT is caused by elevated levels of uric acid in the blood (uric acid is a waste product found in the urine) or poor excretion by the kidneys, or by ingesting too much purines, which turn into uric acid in the body, with certain foods.
  • Purine-rich foods should be excluded from the diet or consumed in the amount determined by the nutritionist.
  • Fat increases the accumulation of uric acid in the body. Therefore, attention should be paid to the amount of oil consumed.
  • Increase your physical activity. Exercising helps keep uric acid levels low.
  • Fried and roasted foods should be avoided.
  • Consumption of vegetables and fruits that are not rich in purines should be increased (as much as desired, except for mushrooms, peas, spinach, cauliflower).
  • Care should be taken to drink plenty of fluids.
  • Alcohol and alcoholic beverages should be avoided.
  • Coffee and tea do not affect the formation of purines in the body. However, care should be taken not to consume more than 2-3 cups of coffee and tea per day.
  • It should be eaten at frequent intervals and little by little.
  • You should remove unhealthy fats such as margarine, solid oils, tallow and tail fat from your life.
  • Red meat consumption should be reduced.
